Short description

A 1958 Capitol record built around a large brass section.

CD LP

Billy May made this record for Capitol in 1958. The title says what it is: the arrangements put the brass in front and they keep it there. The sound is loud, wide and made for the stereo systems of that moment.

Billy May was an American arranger, composer and trumpet player. He wrote for Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, and his own Capitol records show his writing without a singer in front of it.

Cerrone is a French drummer and producer. He made a numbered series of disco albums from 1976, and his records were as large in the United States as in Europe.

Genoa Keawe was a Hawaiian singer. She sang in the traditional falsetto style, and she recorded and performed in Honolulu over many decades.

Love and Kisses is a disco project made for the studio, not for the road. Casablanca released three of its albums, and all three are in this shop.

Love and Kisses is a European disco project that recorded for Casablanca. The label was the largest disco company of the United States, and it bought productions from Europe.

Marty Paich was an American arranger, pianist and conductor. He wrote for singers as well as for his own bands, and he worked in Los Angeles studios for decades.

Nightlife Unlimited is a Canadian dance project. It made three albums for Uniwave, and all three are in this shop.

Passion is the name on the cover. Firefly Records built the group around three singers and a studio band.

This record has no one artist. A collection carries the brand `Various Artists`, and the shop shows it in the same way as every other product.
